As the Federal Government has turned its focus to the stability and development of the Niger Delta Region, different government agencies have adjusted their activities, to fall in line with this new drive. The Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Niger Delta, headed by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has highlighted the importance of collaboration amongst government agencies in tackling the challenges of the region.

The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen Paul Boroh (Rtd.), in line with this has commenced work and is currently meeting with heads of government agencies directly connected to the Niger Delta Region. This move, according to the Special Adviser is aimed at finding areas of collaboration, to avoid duplication of roles, and also to present the full mandate of the amnesty office.
