Lawal Africas Conferred with Chieftaincy Title of ‘AKENI’ of ELLU Kingdom in Isoko Delta State

When it comes to peace building in Niger Delta, one name worth mentioning is Chief (Amb..) Lawal Africas, who is the Asuku 1 of Oloibiri in Bayelsa State.

Chief (Amb.) Lawal Africa who is the Network Coordinator of the largest peace building network in Nigeria, Partner For Peace In Niger-Delta, a programme of PIND Foundation has always been at the forefront of Peace building in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria.

It is on record that Double Chief Lawal Africas as he is should be known now had been involved in the promotion of the Ijaw Culture and Values. He has actively been involved in the activities of Niger Delta Awareness course, as it on record that he played a prominent role in the activities of Ijaw Monitoring Group –IMG which is being coordinated by non-other personality than Niger Delta Activist Comrade Joseph Evah of great repute.

Due to his efforts toward peace building, precisely on March 31, 2017 which is the 5th year Coronation Anniversary of the Ovie of Ellu Kingdom HRM Othuke Murphy Urugbezi, Ogwara 1, Chief (Amb) Lawal Africas was conferred the title of  ‘AKENI’ of Ellu Kingdom of the Isoko Ethnic Nationality in Delta State. (For record purposes ‘AKENI’ means Elephant Tusk).

The occasion threw up a flurry of human and vehicular traffic across the Community, as Double Chief (Amb.) Lawal Africas congratulates the Ovie of Ellu Kingdom His Royal Majesty, Othuke Murphy Urugbezi, Ogwara 1, on the occasion of his 5th Year Coronation Anniversary in the throne.

 

Double Chief (Amb.) Lawal Africas on his congratulatory message to the Kingdom, described the ELLU Kingdom as a peaceful Kingdom and the Ovie of Ellu HRM Othuke Murphy Urugbezi, Ogwara 1 as a God fearing Royal Majesty that has the “Wisdom of Solomon as in the Bible” which the Lord Almighty God has endowed him with.

Earlier at the Coronation anniversary, other distinguished personalities, were also conferred with Chieftaincy titles, among those conferred were Senator James Ebiowou Manager, who was honoured with the title “AGHOGHO of ELLU Kingdom by the Ovie of ELLU Kingdom HRM Othuke Murphy Urugbezi, Ogwara 1. Also conferred with Chieftaincy titles were former Nigeria Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Alexander Ogomudia (Rtd), Chief. (Barrister) Mike Edegware, Chief Austin Arah and Chief Emaka, along with others.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion includes Hon. Eta Enahoro, MD/CEO of Skyward Resources Limited, Sir (Hon.) Tim Owhefere the honourable member representing Isoko North, in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Evance Ivwurie, Member DTHA, Chief Clement Ofuani, Chief (Dr.) Barry Pere Gbe (JP) member Delta State Revenue Board, Hon. Elliot Otobo Ugbome, Special Assistant to Sen. James Manager, Hon. Jahswill Asaba, Chief Ibiri Peter Umuakpoero, High Chief Iduh Amadhe who is the President of Isoko Development Union -IDU, Former Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Chief Felix Ogbadu (rtd), Chief. John Araka, the Media Consultant to NDDC and many others guests that graced the august occasion.
