Peace a Panacea for Development -Brig.Gen Boroh

The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator Presidential Amnesty Programme office Brig. Gen Paul Tarela Boroh (rtd.) has said that for any meaningful development to take place in the Niger Delta ‎the peace in the region must be sustained.

Brig Gen Boroh made this statement in a Media parely/ Interaction /Media Chat/Press briefing with Journalists ‎in his office recently.

He reiterated that no amount of time and resources is too much to sustain peace in any society because violence can lead to crisis and war which devastating\disastrous is stating that anything that creates violence should be prevented.

The Special Adviser also said that the current visit by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (GCON) and other strategic partners to some of the Niger Delta States ‎like Bayelsa ,Edo, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Imo and Delta is part of the peace and confidence building efforts by the Federal government who after their fact finding mission in the region have collated relevant information that will lead to the further development of the area and also promised that the  Federal government will  look at all the issues raised at the town hall meetings held in the states with the sole aim of solving them like the revamping of existing moribund Federal Industries/ infrastructure/Projects  and completing those that have been abandoned like Egbema power plant in Imo state which when completed will supply power to  ‎neighbouring states but was abandoned by previous administration.

‎He also commended some of the Niger Delta States they visited like Bayelsa and Rivers for engaging in aggressive Commercial and Hi Tech Agriculture which is in line with President Muhammad Buhari’s (GCFR) green revolution which is one of the solutions that will help revamp Nigeria’s dwindling Economy engage and create wealth for the people.

Brig.Gen Paul Tarela Boroh ( rtd) also used the opportunity of the press  conference to inform the Journalists that his office was presently charge in of training and empowering the thirty thousand beneficiaries who were given ‎Presidential Pardon and Amnesty by late President Umaru Yar’Adua (GCFR) of blessed memory but  in his capacity as the Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs his office is collaborating with strategic partners like Federal Ministry of Niger Delta , Agriculture, Environment, Petroleum, Works, Power and Housing,  NDDC, NCMB, NIMASA, Oil and Gas as foundation to build Infrastructure and cater for the needs of other people in the Niger Delta Region.
