Ijaw Community Hails PMB’s Amnesty Programme

The Ijaw Community, Abuja chapter has commended the Presidential Amnesty Programme of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, saying it would restore peace in the Niger Delta region.

Speaking after the inauguration of new executive in Abuja at the weekend, Chairman of the community, Comrade Ebierebo Success Okeze (JP) noted that the Amnesty Programme in the region has brought positive impacts on the lives of the youths of the area, who are gradually becoming self-reliance.

Okeze particularly hailed the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen Paul T. Boroh (Rtd.) for his efforts in bringing peace and development to the region.

She called on Ijaw people, both at home and in diaspora, to unite and speak in one voice, to attract necessary development to the community and to enthrone peace in the area and Nigeria in general.

Members of the new executive of Ijaw Community Abuja Chapter led by Mrs. Eberiebo Success Okeze (JP), Chair-person; is made up of Christopher Biddi (Secretary General), Braye Odiowei (Vice Chairman), Sam Amana (Assistant Secretary), James Akpalakpa (Organizing Secretary), Edward Alagoa (PRO), Daniel Simeon (Provost), Mrs. Dorcas Toruemi (Woman Leader) other executive members include Mr. Inabiebu Simeon, Special Adviser to the Chair-person on Religion Matters and Mr. Solomon Oghe, Chairman Taskforce/CSO, Ijaw Community Abuja chapter.
