KALAFIOGBENE- THE people of Kalafiogbene Federated Community, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, have dissociated the community from the secessionist plot of some charlatan and dishonorable persons who are seeking to carve a parallel kingdom from existing Akugbene Mein Kingdom, ruled by HRM Pere Stanley Luke Kalanama VIII.

Chairman of Kalafiogbene, Mr. Anthony Egere, in a statement jointly signed with five other leaders of the federated community, said: “Our attention has been drawn to a purported and spurious claim by some impostors and notorious persons parading and impersonating under the guise of a new Kerebiri-Mein Kingdom from ancient Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, and claiming that Kalafiogbene community is among the communities that endorsed the secession or forming of a new parallel kingdom from existing Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.”

“We want to, however, state unequivocally that Kalafiogbene Federated Community has no knowledge of the unfounded claim by a self-acclaimed king and his co-travelers, we have no business or intention to break out or form any parallel kingdom from existing Akugbebe-Mein Kingdom,” they said.

The leaders said: “Meanwhile, a joint meeting was held at Kalafiogbene town on the October, 1, 2016 in the presence of the four governing quarters that make up the community, including Elohim city community over the purported endorsement of self-imposed a king and his purported Kerebiri-Mein Kingdom, and the community strongly warns those fanning embers of division or trouble in the kingdom to be wary of the legal implications of their coup to overthrow the current king and divide an existing ancient Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.

“We want to say that Bomadi local government council a peace loving and would not want to be dragged in the mud by some political mercenaries, and Kalafiogbene Community will not be part of anything that will disrupt the existing peace in the area.

“We want to affirm that Kalafiogbene was not consulted and never represented in any capacity as claimed by the self-styled monarch parading as parallel king in the purported Kerebiri parallel kingdom,” they asserted.

The Kalafioghene leaders insisted: “However, we further reiterate that the impostor should apologize and retract their purported claim against Kalafiogbene Federated Community within an ultimatum of 14 days and desist from their alleged plot to overthrow the existing King and divide the Kingdom to avoid arrest and legal tussle in the Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.”

They said: “We have officially informed the security agencies over their unfounded activities in the Kingdom, as we do not know what they intend to achieve in dividing Akugbene-Mein Kingdom in Bomadi Local government area. Therefore, we call on the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to call the self-imposed king and his cohorts to order to avoid unnecessary crisis in the Kingdom.”
